Double Offset Butterfly Control Valve
The double offset butterfly control valve, also known as a high-performance butterfly control valve, features two key offsets from the valve body's center:
1. The shaft axis is offset from the centerline of the disc's seat and body seal.
2. The shaft axis is eccentric to the centerline of the pipeline or valve.
This design creates a cam action during valve operation, lifting the seat from the seal, which results in reduced friction during the first and final 10° of opening and closing movements.
Applications:
Double offset butterfly control valves excel in applications requiring higher pressures than those suitable for zero offset butterfly valves. They are commonly used in industries such as oil and gas, chemical processing, and water treatment, where reliable performance and durability are essential for fluid control in demanding environments.
